The COVID-19 pandemic places extraordinary demands on every eye care professional and changes our well-established contact lens practices. This presentation will explain what happened, what can be expected and what is going to be the impact on our contact lens fitting routine. It is going to describe how to ensure that the contact lens practice staff is appropriately prepared and trained for particular situations: environment, clothing, behavior, media (web behavior). The session is going to emphasize the need to establish contingency plans for treating a high volume of contact lens patients when the pandemic subsides to ensure safe, healthy and comfortable contact lens wear.
